As a response to User Voice feedback we have received, this post expands on Brad Anderson’s post of Getting Started with SCCM & Power BI  and can help you deploy a Power BI cloud-based dashboard. The dashboard provides an overview of your integrated System Center Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune environment.

You can create your own Power BI Dashboard that shows data from your deployment of System Center Configuration Manager integrated with Microsoft Intune. This post includes examples of data you can view with the Power BI dashboard, and links you to a guide to get you started.

Key benefits of the Dashboard include:

  • A single page summary view for key metrics of Configuration Manager and Intune infrastructure
  • Drill-down for additional metrics that are most relevant to key features like application and operating system deployments, client health, and compliance with regulations
  • Users can create additional metrics datasets
  • You can easily share datasets with others in your organization
  • You can use the Power BI App to view data on mobile devices

Examples of data you can view with the Power BI dashboard include

  • Overview information for client and server health
  • Devices managed by Configuration Manager and Intune
  • Software updates managed with Configuration Manager
  • Malware detected with System Center Endpoint Protection

To get Started: You can download the Getting Started with ConfigMgr & Intune hybrid Power BI Dashboard, and then publish it to your organization cloud.

About Power BI Licensing: Power BI for Desktop is free to download, to view, and to use to create report datasets. Each user that consumes Power BI content in the cloud does need a Power BI License. You can read more about the free and paid versions here.

We are always interested in hearing your feedback. Please provide feedback and suggestions using ConfigMgr uservoice website or use the comments section to let the team know about your experience – and tell us what we can do better!
